Brain Droppings

Talk about days getting away from you. This one certainly did, but not for the reason you may think. So given how late it is (it’s before midnight, it still counts as today!), and given that I have to get up in the morning tomorrow (whee, 4am!), this entry is going to be kinda random and low on the thought-provoking meter. In fact, it may sound like a bad observational comedy bit, where the person on stage strings a bunch of “Hey, you know that thing that is really common?” anecdotes together without really telling a joke.

Don’t you just hate it when you hear a song that you know you’ve heard before, but have no way of looking it up? And even worse, when there are no lyrics to plug into Google? Man, that’s really annoying.

I was at Red Rocks Amphitheater with my mom today, and they were testing the sound system for a concert this weekend. Like most concert venues, there was way too much bass, the kind that you can feel moving your insides and threatening to loosen those fillings that haven’t already fallen out over the years. What was funny was that I recognized the song (overwhelmingly loud as it was) that they were using to test the system. But like I mentioned above, I had no way of looking up the song. It was an electronic track, instrumental, so there weren’t any lyrics to look up. And the only description I can give is there was a rhythmic buzzing interspersed with a synth that sounded like a violin. This, of course, is about as useful as saying a bluegrass song had a banjo or a Beatles song used four-part harmonies, or GWAR was hard to understand. I’m not even sure I could replicate the rhythm in person. But if you can figure out what song I mean from that description, please let me know.

Anyway, that’s obviously still bothering me. Maybe once I get some sleep it’ll get better, but for now it is quite irksome. And since I need to post to fulfill the chittering demons of my own creation (I haven’t missed one yet, which means no firstborns eaten), you get to listen! Or read, or whatever.

 I’mma go sleep now.

EDIT: It was Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff by deadmau5!  Or at least a mix of it without the lyrics.  Now I can sleep soundly.
